Education & Training:
Training:
What good is all this cool new equipment if operation intimidates you?
We don’t just point out the power switch and wave goodbye.
We work with you and your team, understanding where they are at- starting with (using an audio example)
Proper ‘basic operation’ and ‘best practices’ moving to
Set-up & signal-flow logic, (what does what and why)
Platform set-up & Input patching
Basic EQ & microphone do’s and don’ts
Proper gain staging etc.
Education:
Isn’t this the same as training?
I don’t see it that way at all… training, at least in this context, refers to the objective, tangible, ‘head and hands’ ability to properly and successfully operate your AVL equipment. Education, I see as sharing the knowledge and understanding of the nuts and bolts or the building blocks… (Ok… the “science and math”) behind it all, and improve your team.
Looking to go beyond system operation, or lay a basic foundation to build on?
Maybe your crew just needs encouragement, or a refresher, or the ‘leap to digital’ is intimidating or still shaky.
Whether it’s just curiosity of ‘how it all fits together’, are you looking to improve the depth of the staff resources you have, or build interest and start a team from Square Zero, let’s talk. Let’s get acquainted or Let’s get into it
Your venue, your team, from one-on-one to ‘classroom sessions’ tailored to your need:
Audio (including, but not limited to):
Active Listening
Equalization & Ear training
Subjective aspects of an audio mix (note: rabbit hole warning ☺)
Microphone selection
Psychoacoustics- how the brain processes sound & (sort of) audio ‘illusions’
God’s Laws of Physics will not bend for you
Video (including, but not limited to):
Proper use of lighting to add depth & definition, but not shadows.
Camera angles, & composition- when to zoom, when to crossfade
Video switching & ‘producer’ techniques cut or crossfade?, thinking ‘ahead’
Lighting (yup. once again… including but not limited to):
Color temperature, and its effect on the viewer
Purposeful lighting angles- from full stage wash to spotting a soloist.
Color choices & effects – cool or warm / complement or contrast
Immersion- drawing in your audience / congregation / viewers
Hablo DMX? - talking to your fixtures, it’s simpler than you think.
